At Silver Cross, we value your child’s safety above everything else.

That’s why every Silver Cross car seat is now covered by our Car Seat Crash Replacement Scheme.

If you’re involved in a road traffic accident, no matter how minor, your car seat must be replaced, even if there is no visible damage. The impact may have caused unseen internal damage, which could stop your car seat from protecting your child correctly in the future.

Replacement car seats are usually covered under your vehicle’s insurance policy, and this should always be your first option after an accident.

If your Silver Cross car seat is covered by insurance, we will provide a letter for your insurance company to confirm it is no longer safe and needs to be replaced.

In circumstances where your insurance does not cover your Silver Cross car seat, or the full cost of a replacement, we will provide a like for like replacement free of charge provided you meet the criteria set out below. We will also collect the original car seat, which will then be recycled as part of our car seat recycling scheme.

 

To be eligible for the Car Seat Crash Replacement Scheme, you must:

  • The applicant must be residing in Hong Kong or Macau and have proof of address in Hong Kong or Macau.

  • The accident must have occurred in Hong Kong or Macau.

  • The applicant must be the registered owner of the vehicle involved in the accident and have a Silver Cross seat installed in the vehicle.

  • The Silver Cross car seat must be under warranty (within 3 years from the date of purchase).

  • Hold a valid Hong Kong or Macau motor insurance policy (at least third party liability insurance).

  • Vehicle license plate (commonly known as “license plate”) must be valid at the time of the accident.

 

Please note, before a free of charge replacement car seat is provided, we will require:

  • Proof of address in Hong Kong or Macau

  • Proof of insurance company's confirmation that the seat is not covered by the claim

  • Detailed description of the accident (including: speed, direction of impact, object of collision, whether children were in the vehicle at the time of the accident)

  • Photographs of the vehicle involved in the accident (clearly showing all damaged parts, multiple angles are recommended)

  • Photographs of the current condition of the safety seat (must be a complete picture of the Silver Cross safety seat installed in the car at the time of the accident, clearly showing any possible injuries)

  • Proof of valid automobile insurance (e.g., certificate of insurance showing that the policy was in effect at the time of the accident)

  • Copy of submitted automobile insurance claim documents (if applicable)

  • Copy of police accident report

  • Valid proof of vehicle license (commonly known as a “license plate”)

  • Proof of purchase of Silver Cross car seat (must be a copy of the original receipt or invoice from an authorized dealer, clearly showing the date of purchase)

Remark:

  • The Replacement Guarantee does not provide a cash compensation program. It is a product replacement service only and will not be compensated in cash or any other form.

  • If your original seat model is no longer in production or out of stock, we will arrange to replace it with the closest available replacement model.

  • Transportation costs incurred in replacing the car seat will be borne by the applicant.

  • Upon receipt of the application, the car seat must be submitted to us for inspection, which normally takes 7 to 14 working days to process.

  • For the time being, this warranty only applies to the main body of the car seat. Other Silver Cross products, such as strollers, accessories, etc., are not covered by this warranty. Please refer to the Warranty Policy page on this website.
